Forward Thinking Tactics For Online Marketing
After weeks of putting in endless hours of production time, you have finally created the perfect website. With vibrant pictures and professional graphics, you know that this site is going to bring in a lot of money. The first thing you do after unveiling the site is release it to the top search engines, expecting to get an overflow of new web traffic. But unfortunately, it doesn’t take you long to realize that the search engines alone aren’t getting the job done. What you must realize is, the only way to significantly improve web traffic is to develop a comprehensive online promotion strategy.
You may be thinking that an online website promotion strategy is too difficult to come up with. It’s easier then you think! Here are 5 ways to drive traffic to your site and get you the hits you need.
1) Give something away. Who doesn’t like a “free lunch”? In fact, who doesn’t like getting anything for free? The trick is to give the site viewer something of value. This could be an informative report for example. The key is to couple the gift with a call to action, something to bring them back to your site, or even better, spend money. The call to action could be as simple as a note at the end of the report informing the site visitor that new free content will be available next month. Or, if you are selling products on your website you could offer free samples. But make sure those samples have your web address on themthat’s the call to action. When the site visitor wants more of your product, they’ll know exactly where to go. This little tip is called “moving the free line”.
2) Sometimes you just get what you pay for. “Pay per click” marketing is a fast and easy way to drive traffic to your site if you have a budget for online advertising. Almost all of the major search engines offer pay per click services that will send customers that need and want your product or services directly to your website. One of the highlights to this approach is that you often only pay for the “clicks” that land a surfer on your site.
3) Networking is probably the most cost-efficient way to send a lot of web traffic to your new site. Meeting and developing relationships with other marketers is a sure-fire way to send a bunch of free web traffic to your site, and may bring in valuable revenue. If you can arrange it correctly, forming a partnership with another business with a similar target market is a great way to swap buyer traffic. This is probably the best way to increase not only web traffic, but also revenue.
4) Content is king! Think about the sites you visit most often. They could be news sites, or weather sites. Maybe a site related to one of your hobbies. Why do you visit them often? Because each time you visit you read or see something new. Your content doesn’t have to live on your website alone. Write articles and submit them to other websites and directories. Make sure they always reference, or better yet link back to your site. The person that was interested in your article will most likely be interested in your site. Before you know it you’ll have created an endless stream of web viewers. Plus, as long as you update your contentthey’ll keep coming back.
5) Marketing is often a visual concept, so online video creation and syndication is a powerful tool in your arsenal. Online video generated traffic is considered the most responsive traffic. Invest your time into making as many online videos as you can. These videos should be syndicated and submitted to more than a dozen of the web 2.0 video sites populating the internet. Not only will this method generate traffic from the viewers in the online video community, but it provides free search engine traffic as well due to the videos being ranked high in the search engines.
